When should you use a browser-based creator tool?

Every major platform enforces rigid dimensions, aspect ratios, and file size limits for banners, profile pictures, emotes, and product images. Discord requires a 5:2 aspect ratio for profile banners while centre-cropping mismatched assets. Twitch enforces strict 25 KB limits on 112×112, 56×56, and 28×28 emotes. Roblox mandates precise placement on a 585×559 canvas template.

Frequently asked questions

Why not just use a general image resizer?

Because the hard part is not the resize. It is knowing that Twitch rejects an emote over 25 KB, that Discord centre-crops any profile banner that is not 5:2, that Roblox wants the torso panel in a fixed place on a 585 × 559 canvas, and that only the middle strip of a YouTube banner is visible on a phone. A general resizer takes a number from you; these pages already know the number.

Are my images uploaded to make these exports?

No. The file is decoded, cropped, resized, encoded and bundled into a ZIP by your own browser, and you can verify it: open DevTools, go to the Network panel and export — no request carrying your image appears. The page's Content-Security-Policy sets connect-src 'self', so the browser would refuse one even if the code tried.

What happens when a platform has a file size limit?

The exporter enforces it rather than mentioning it. For JPEG and WebP it searches for the highest quality that fits under the cap, biased towards under rather than near. PNG is lossless and has no quality dial, so a PNG over its cap is reported as over — with the suggestion to switch format or simplify the artwork — instead of being handed to you as though it fit.

Can I export every size a platform needs in one go?

Yes, and that is the main reason these pages exist. A Twitch emote set is 112, 56 and 28 pixels; subscriber badges are 72, 36 and 18. One crop produces all of them and they arrive as a single ZIP, named the way the upload form expects, rather than as three rounds of the same work.

What are the dotted lines and dark shapes on the preview?

The dotted rectangle is the safe area — the part of the frame that is visible on every device. The dark shapes are what the platform draws on top of your artwork: a circular avatar over a Discord or X banner, the player controls over a Spotify Canvas. Anything you put under them will not be seen, and seeing that while you crop is cheaper than finding out after you publish.
